Mark Kennedy –Joint CEO and Director of Service
Mark has worked in the trade credit insurance industry since 1995. He began his career with Trade Indemnity (now Allianz Trade), where he held a variety of roles including Risk Underwriter, New Business Underwriter, and positions in both Direct Sales and Client Service.
In 2002, Mark joined Credit and Business Finance (CBF), an independent specialist credit insurance broker, as Director of Service. During his tenure, CBF grew from a five-person team to sixteen, managing nearly 500 active policies. Under his leadership, CBF became the leading independent credit broker in the South of England.
Following its acquisition in 2019, CBF merged into Xenia Broking Ltd, which subsequently expanded through the acquisition of six additional independent brokers—establishing Xenia as one of the top three credit insurance brokers in the UK.
As a member of Xenia’s Board until his departure in late 2024, Mark played a key role in overseeing business compliance and ensuring the firm maintained the highest professional and regulatory standards.
Mike Lawrence - Joint CEO and Commercial Director
Mike brings more than 27 years of specialist credit insurance experience, with a strong track record in new business development and delivering tailored, innovative solutions that help businesses protect and accelerate their growth.
Throughout much of his career, Mike has worked for leading independent credit insurance specialists. Following a series of mergers and acquisitions, he went on to work for one of the largest credit insurance specialists in the UK, where he became a key member of the leadership team and was appointed Head of New Business for the UK and Ireland.
Mike has built excellent director-level relationships with insurers across the market, enabling him to deliver strategic insight and strong support for clients.
Ashley Lawrence - Sales Director
Ashley is widely recognised within the credit insurance industry as one of the leading new business specialists, with an outstanding reputation for introducing innovative and new-to-market opportunities that help clients and funding partners unlock growth in complex and fast-changing markets.
Ashley has developed strong relationships with funders and finance brokers who value and rely on his extensive market knowledge and expertise. He has a proven ability to secure insurance terms and credit limits that support lending requirements, particularly within the invoice finance and trade finance sectors.
Many of these transactions are highly time-sensitive, and Ashley’s strong relationships and influence with insurers enable him to secure the necessary cover within demanding timescales.
